Pope Francis was reportedly said to be in a critical condition, the Vatican shared in a new statement.
The religious pontic is currently being treated at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome after going through a prolonged asthmatic respiratory crisis as shared by Radar Online.

The Vatican shared how the medical condition requires high levels of oxygen and as per a recent statement, his medical team is said to be on standby and alert for any unwarranted circumstances.
The Holy Father is still alert and spent the whole day on an armchair although he is said to be in a lot of pain. The Vatican failed to detail more on his diagnosis, calling it a moment of reservation for the time being.

The news has led to global prayers from worshippers who hope he can come back safely as media outlets shared how his condition led to preparations for his funeral, despite him still being alive.
The pontiff has been under special medical care for a week now due to his complicated lung infection. He underwent several blood transfusions after a series of tests revealing how he was also suffering from anemia.

The Vatican spoke about how all of his public gatherings and events were postponed until further notice as he’s scheduled to remain in the hospital under careful observation.
