Warnings were issued to all tourists about the possibility of more earthquakes and that’s why thousands flocked out of the island within no time to remain safe.

The quake that took place yesterday was first reported as a 5.3 magnitude earthquake by the local media. They said there were hundreds of tremors and soon it was downgraded to 5.2 in the hours that followed that.

It’s now been cautioned that it was not a major earthquake and no different from the past ones that measured 5, 5.1, or 5.2 on the Richter scale as more tremors keep getting recorded on Santorini. A total of 11 quakes with a magnitude of at least four were left alone on Saturday and dozens more were reported since that time.
