A Southwest plane was seen nearly colliding with a private plane at the Chicago Midway Airport, few moments back.
The news comes after America goes through a series of aviation disasters that have taken the country by storm.
The two planes had a very close call on the runway at the airport on Tuesday as per reports from local media outlets.
Harrowing footage showed the moment the two planes came near one another as the plane made preparations for its landing. As the blue passenger plane inched closer, the private plane was seen slowly moving across its travel path.
At the last minute, the Southwest Airlines flight 2504 ditched the landing attempt and veered back into the air to avoid the plane. Shocking audio can be heard from the control tower where the pilot could be heard stating that this was a close call, slamming the control tower by asking, ‘how that happened!’
As per reports from CNN that plane ended up landing safely at the airport after avoiding another plane. According to a spokesperson from the airlines, the crew followed all emergency protocols to ensure the safety of all passengers aboard the plane.
One X user wrote how that could have been the most tragic disaster and someone needs to be fired from their job. Another mentioned how the matter was clearly getting out of hand and someone needed to intervene before it was too late.
